Yes, folks, we've been here five years. Cue David Bowie. Thanks, Dave!

And, yes, folks, I couldn't be bothered waiting until the actual day to post this.

There's another five year anniversary I could have mentioned this month, but I try to steer clear of angry rants on this weblog. They're for elsewhere.

Here's a song for that one. Yes, I know it's not really about Iraq. The lead singer should send a memo to the guitarist.

Stop-motion cardboard cut-out animation of light cycle scene fron Tron. Is this the sort of thing we apparently call "sweded" now?

Now you don't need to climb Everest.

(Not that anyone ever did, mind.)

Self-destructing website

NB: largish flash animation.

Harlan Ellison interviewed (click the "Listen to the interview" link for the whole thing) at Salon, about, ostensibly, the new documentary Dreams With Sharp Teeth. Trailer, footage of the premiere speeches and Q & A, and various readings available at the site. See also Ellison's thoughts on the proposed WGA contract, just for the hell of it.

"DVNO" by Justice

Dunno if the single's any good (didn't listen, to be honest) but the video is a lovingly detailed tribute to the cheesy animated logos of the Eighties.

At Google Video, the 1990 (or is it 1993? - given I saw it on first release you'd think I'd remember) documentary Cyberpunk. Gosh, Gibbo looks young.

Peter Russell Clark (Australian celebrity chef of the 80s) blooper reel - NB: Frequent Strong Language.

Scene from Mark Twain's The Mysterious Stranger done in claymation - internet scuttlebutt claims this clip was banned, which seems to mean deleted from original cinematic release, like all those other "banned" scenes you get to watch on DVD extras. Wikipedia entry; IMdB entry. You can't help be amused by people commenting "Who knew Mark Twain was so dark?" What did they teach these people?
