Look what The Internet hath brought us today...

The Monty Python cast (sans John Cleese) "co-host" AM America to promote Monty Python and the Holy Grail, April 25 1975. Hat-tip, as I believe is the correct blogging term, to Dennis Perrin at Red State Son.

Then there's these PBS fundraising spots the Pythons did the same year. I recall seeing one of these at the time, aged eleven. Well, actually, it wasn't one of these, it was the one where Michael Palin is tied to a chair. (This was because my family spent eight months in the US at that time, which is also why I'm one of the few Australians who understood what the "Amendment to Be" cartoon on The Simpsons was sending up - and very smug I am about it, too.

(It was, of course, this.)

Oh, look, another Python gem, the very first Monty Python sketch ever broadcast, subsequently deleted from repeats of the show in order not to clash with a general election, then lost, then discovered here in footage from a PBS pledge. Score!
